Detroit police arrest 34-year-old homicide suspect

Detroit police have identified a 34-year-old man as the suspect involved in a fatal shooting earlier this week.

Craig Bergeron fled the 9200 block of Kercheval Avenue on Monday night after he allegedly shot a man in his 30s.

After about 24 hours of searching, police announced late on Christmas Eve that Bergeron had been arrested. 

Police responded to the homicide on Detroit's east side around 8:40 p.m., they said in a news release. They found the victim upon arrival. 

According to Detroit Police, Bergeron fled in a white SUV. He has shoulder-length braids and was last seen wearing a green jacket, black pants, and black boots.
