DETROIT (FOX 2) - Detroit police say they will be enforcing a weekend curfew in downtown after four people were shot Friday night.
"We will be enforcing a citywide curfew for minors between Friday and Sunday. The curfew starts at 10 p.m. for anyone aged 15 and under and 11 p.m. for minors aged 16 and 17. Any violators of this curfew will be detained," Detroit police said in a Facebook post.
Officials say a total of four adults were shot; one fatally. The conditions of the other victims are unknown at this time.
"It was just a lot of youth here and the energy was just very off. A bad time and a bad situation," said Shaimar Mitchell, a business owner.
Detroit Police officers were sitting stationary in the area of Randolph and Monroe when they heard the sound of gunshots coming from near a parking structure, officials said. The officers then noticed people running from the area and responded to assist.
"As soon as I came out, like literally 4 or 5 minutes later, the police was surrounded, the ambulance was running, and I just heard gunshots, it was crazy, really crazy," said Kay, a witness.

Officers learned three people were shot and saw a suspect armed with a handgun. The suspect then ran into the parking structure, and the officers pursued them.
Police say the suspect later pointed his firearm at the lead officer as he attempted to escape in a black Mazda being driven by another suspect.
The lead officer fired a single shot at the armed suspect, striking him. The black Mazda pulled off from the location. Later, the wounded suspect was located at a local hospital and taken into custody.
"Thankfully, because of the diligent efforts of our officers, this suspect is in custody and no longer a threat to the officers or our community. As we do our part, we ask the community to come together and to use its influence to persuade individuals to make better choices," Detroit Police Chief James White said in a statement. "While acts of violence such as this do not define Detroit, our community still deserves better. Everyone should be able to enjoy all of the good Detroit has to offer without fear or apprehension of violence."
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
