Detroit school security guard accused of sexually assaulting 14-year-old student
DETROIT (FOX 2) - A security guard at a Detroit school is facing charges after authorities allege he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old student.
Trevon Leviticus Ziglar, 23, was charged Sunday with first-degree criminal sexual conduct for the assault, which allegedly happened last year.
What we know:
Prosecutors said the assault happened in a stairwell at Cornerstone Jefferson-Douglass Academy on May 20, 2024. A student who witnessed the crime told his parents.
Video corroborated what the student said he saw, authorities said.

"There was video of both the complainant and the defendant going to that stairwell at that time, and that they were in that stairwell for about 20 minutes," said Lisa Coyle, with the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office. "Most troubling is, allegedly, the defendant had told the complainant to tell the witness not to tell anyone."
Coyle said she believes there may be another victim, too.
Ziglar, who is believed to be a danger to the community, is being held without bond in the Wayne County Jail.
What they're saying:
Cornerstone Jefferson-Douglass Academy released a statement:
"The incident occurred eight months ago. At that time, we immediately contacted the Detroit Police and simultaneously notified the outside security company to prohibit the individual from entering any Cornerstone property. We have been and are still fully cooperating with the police.
"The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority and we continue to take all necessary actions to ensure they are in a safe environment."
What you can do:
Ziglar is due in court on Jan. 21 for a probable cause conference. He then returns to court Jan. 28 for a preliminary exam.
