Dr. Jill Biden to speak in Detroit at Jewish school's annual dinner

The first lady will be in Detroit next weekend when she is expected to attend an annual religious dinner.

The Yeshiva Beth Yehudah's annual dinner will be hosted at the city's Marriott Renaissance Center, continuing a tradition that's extended more than 50 years.

Dr. Jill Biden will be the guest speaker at the dinner, a release from the White House said.

Biden previously visited Royal Oak in September as part of a five-state bus tour.

The annual dinner was held virtually last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Operations will resume normally this weekend when Biden speaks at 4:30 p.m.

General Motors CEO Mary Barra will also be in attendance, where she will be this year's recipient of the Outstanding Leadership Award.

Yeshiva Beth Yehudah is a Jewish school with campuses in Southfield and Oak Park.
