Wild semi-truck crash into fire trucks at scene of freeway accident in west Michigan
Thursday morning's winter blast caused issues on Michigan roads - including chaotic police video from jack-knifed semi-truck crash in Kalamazoo County.
FOX 2 - Thursday morning's winter blast's hazardous driving conditions led to a chaotic crash caught on a police dash cam video from Kalamazoo County.
Police and fire vehicles were hit by the jack-knifed semi-truck clipping the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's deputy cruiser and Comstock Fire truck. The first responders were stopped on the shoulder attending to a previous crash scene where an SUV had flipped in a crash.
The video shows the truck sliding out control, clipping the police vehicle before slamming into the fire truck, sending firefighters scattering. No first responders were injured, and the truck driver was transported for minor injuries as a precaution.

Kalamazoo County Sheriff Rick Fuller released a statement on social media regarding the harrowing crash, advising drivers to stay off the roads whenever possible during inclement weather.
"At approximately 8:30 AM, first responders were assisting at the scene of an accident on eastbound I-94 near the 80.5-mile marker in Comstock Township when a semi-truck jackknifed, overturned and struck a Comstock Fire apparatus and a Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in this incident.

"We urge everyone to avoid travel unless absolutely necessary during severe winter weather. If you must be on the road, please use extreme caution, reduce your speed, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Your safety—and the safety of first responders—depends on it."
