DETROIT (WJBK) - Police are asking for the public's help locating a driver that left the scene of an accident earlier this week. A man in a motorized wheelchair was hit by a car and killed, and the driver fled the scene.
Police say the 60-year-old man was crossing the street at Livernois Avenue and Lyndon Street Tuesday around 6:20 p.m. when he was hit. Police have not yet named the victim.
Police say the vehicle is a dark-blue Dodge Durango with the license plate # CMN 3238. The suspect is a black male.
Police have released surveillance footage of the accidents in hope of someone recognizing the vehicle or the driver.
