Election recounting to begin Friday to the cost of $800K

The board of state canvassers has certified Donald Trump's win, saying he took Michigan by just over 10,000 votes.

The win gives the president elect 306 electoral votes to Hillary Clinton's 232. Trump becomes the first republican presidential nominee to win Michigan since 1988. Now that the election is certified the door is open for a recount.

Green Party candidate Jill Stein has already raised millions of dollars for a recount in Wisconsin and will likely ask for recount in Michigan.

After the vote was certified by the state board of canvassers today, Mark Brewer shows up, the attorney for Jill Stein says we're going to recount by hand, 4.8 million votes and  they must do this by Dec. 13.

FOX 2 political analyst Tim Skubick reports Brewer told the board of canvassers there is reason to believe there was some wrong-doing, although he has absolutely no proof, but wants to find out. For example, he believes that the ballot scanning system used in Michigan, can be faulty.

Brewer said despite what the state election officials says, that the election system can be hacked into. The recounting will begin on Friday to the tune of $800,000.

"Here's the bad news for taxpayers, if it goes higher than that, the state elections director told us late this afternoon, local counties have to make up the difference," Skubick said. "So the election is not over. The fat lady's sang but apparently it looks like she didn't mean it."
