Fatal accident shuts down 18 Mile in Sterling Heights
STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (WJBK) - Police are continuing to investigate a fatal accident that shut down 18 Mile Road in Sterling Heights Thursday evening.
Sterling Heights police say a 22-year-old man from Shelby Township died as a result of his injuries after hitting a truck.
Police say the victim was driving eastbound on 18 Mile Road and the truck was turning out onto 18 Mile Road, and the victim's Chevy Equinox went underneat the truck.
Police say the truck driver is cooperating with the investigation, and drugs and alcohol do not appear to be related at this time.
Police are asking anyone that witnessed the crash to call the Sterling Heights Police Department.
