WIXOM, Mich. (FOX 2) - A homeowner is sharing video of a crime after a greedy Grinch stole expensive electronics from his front porch in Wixom.
A suspect can be seen on video pilfering packages from a porch on Kenan Drive and Loon Lake roads, despite a very apparent Ring doorbell sign.
"Because we had such good video ... it was a no-brainer that our detectives were going to take that and run with it," said Ron Moore, Director of Public Safety.
Wixom police say Dec. 10 around 10:30 a.m., the Ring Doorbell camera captured a crook stealing packages. The homeowner was unable to come to the door, speaking with FOX 2 through his doorbell camera.
The thief was then seen hopping into his small SUV. Police say this culprit appears to be casual and calculated -- it happened about seven minutes after UPS dropped the packages off.
Wixom police say so far they've gotten several credible tips and they believe they know who they're looking for. The homeowner is now recommending getting one of these doorbells or surveillance cameras if you can.
"We know who you are. Bring the stuff back and turn yourself in because we are gonna catch you," Moore said.
