Grosse Pointe South High School lock down lifted after student claims to have weapon
GROSSE POINTE, Mich. (WJBK) - Police in Grosse Pointe are at Grosse Pointe South High School while the school was locked down due to a student making threats.
That student claimed they had a weapon, according to school officials, but no weapon has been found. Another student claimed that the suspect had a gun in their backpack.
Police have given the all clear and the lockdown was lifted at 3:42 p.m. Tuesday. That student has not been identified as a boy or girl. Police are still investigating.
An earlier version of this story reported that a witness said a person had been stabbed at a market across the street from the school. That information was incorrect and we regret the erroneous report.
