Teen critically injured after Clawson shooting, barricaded gunman turns gun on himself

For hours on Sunday, Clawson, Troy, and Royal Oak Officers were at the 400 block of W. 14 Mile on reports of a shooting.

Teen critically injured after Clawson shooting, barricaded gunman turns gun on himself

Several hours into a barricaded gunman situation in Clawson ends with the suspect turning the gun on himself after shooting his stepdaughter. Clawson, Troy, and Royal Oak Officers along with Oakland County SWAT team attempted communication with the suspect after a domestic dispute but was unsuccessful.

The situation started around 2:34 p.m. and continued to the next-door neighbor's house. Officers found the suspect fled back into his house and barricaded himself after shooting his teenage stepdaughter. 

The teen was sent to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition. The neighbor involved was also shot in the leg during the incident and taken to the hospital for her injuries. 

Police tell us this is a domestic situation.

The officers were not able to communicate with the suspect. Oakland county SWAT team, negotiators, and a psychologist were called for assistance. 

After several hours into the stand-off and unsuccessful communication efforts the suspect was found deceased in the home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
