High-speed police chase in Detroit ends with teen arrests after 20-mile pursuit

A cross-county police chase led to the arrest of multiple teenagers, who were allegedly driving as fast as 120 mph during the pursuit.

What they're saying:

Police said the chase started when they spotted a stolen Cadillac on Venoy in Garden City, occupied by five teenagers.

The chase spanned 20 miles, starting just after 2 a.m. on Wednesday, then ending on Detroit's eastside.

The driver sped through many neighborhoods on Detroit’s eastside until the teenagers bailed over at Blue Hill and Denver, then ran down Denver, trying to make it to Cadieux.

But unfortunately for them, that was where the police got them.

Local perspective:

"As soon as you run out of Blue Hill there’s a police station right there, so it was the wrong way to run," said resident Thomas Pardo.

Pardo says he is not shocked to hear of a police chase ending on his street, saying these types of chases are becoming all too common.

What we know:

Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The five teens were arrested, and Garden City police are not commenting on the chase.
