I-75 closed at Clark in Detroit after dump truck strikes overpass

A portion of southbound I-75 is closed Tuesday morning after a dump truck struck an overpass.

MDOT says I-75 southbound is closed at Clark Street. Drivers going southbound on the interstate must exit at Springwells, where the freeway will be closed. Drivers can reenter at Livernois.

SkyFOX is over the scene, and the bridge that has been damaged is the Junction Street overpass.

Just last week, another bridge was struck in the metro Detroit area causing traffic delays along Interstate 96.

A semi that was too tall for the highway couldn't make it underneath the Pleasant Valley Bridge and damaged the support beams. The bridge will be closed indefinitely.

MDOT hasn't offered a timeline for when I-75 will reopen at Clark Street.
