'I never heard of this band,' Harpos works to clean record after alleged Neo-Nazi band played at venue

It was a chilling moment for a concert venue in Detroit when a band with neo-Nazi themes played there for the crowd.

What we know:

So many bands have performed at Harpos, historically one of the most popular concert venues in Detroit. However, venue owner Ruzvelt Stevanovski says he didn’t know Saturday night’s concert featured bands with a neo-Nazi twist.

The owner told FOX 2's Charlie Langton that there was no way the band would have been let in to perform if they knew beforehand. Unfortunately, Stevanovski said he did not do his homework when it came to booking this band.

On Saturday, police received threats and in response checked out Harpos, along with the fire marshal.

"They asked me where are your permits and listen man I just found out they are Nazis," the owner said. "I’ve gotta shut the show down. Let me shut it down first. In the meantime, they’re looking around, permits this and that."

The show was stopped after two of the seven bands played. Meanwhile, about 250 concert-goers had to leave-but a total of 24 safety violations were issued that night.

The owner said he is going to clean everything up and already got a permit.

Harpos released an apology on Facebook, reading:

"On Saturday January 25th, there was an event held at Harpos Concert Theatre that needs to be addressed publicly. The community has demanded answers, which is rightfully deserved, to which we intended on providing. Starting off, I would like to issue our deepest apologies to the community on behalf of myself (Krystle Dzajkovska), Ruzvelt Stevanovski, and Harpos Concert Theatre. While the events on January 25th do not reflect our values, or that of our community, we are truly sorry and are holding ourselves and others involved accountable. We at Harpos are deeply committed to fostering an environment of inclusivity, respect, and equality for all. We want to unequivocally state racism has no place in our business or community, and we stand against all forms of racism."

Ruzvelt says he’s going to preserve the legacy of Harpos and not do anything to mess it up.
