DETROIT (WJBK) - Starting today, seats from the former home of the Detroit Red Wings up for sale so you can take home a piece of history.
Season ticket holders, both full and partial, will get first dibs on Tuesday and sales will open to the general public Saturday, May 12 on thejoeseats.com.
Seats will be sold in sets of two and start at $150 per seat. There are additional charges for requesting specific seats, and each included a signed Certificate of Authenticity. The seats can be picked up on-site or shipped.
"Pricing of the seats was determined carefully to make owning a piece of the incredible Joe Louis Arena history affordable to all fans, even though there are limited quantities available," said Robert Levy and Scott Miedema. "Current season ticket holders, suite holders and sponsors will have first priority. All remaining seats will be sold on a First-Come-First Serve basis."
This May, other Joe Louis Arena items will be sold in an online auction, including signs, lighting, furniture and more. Infrastructure items will be available at private sale, call 1-800-LAST BID (1-800-527-8243) for more information.
