NORTHVILLE TWP., Mich. - Two little girls who were reported missing two weeks ago have been found safe in Florida, according to Northville Township Police.
Police said on August 13, 39-year-old Courtney Ann Peck of Grosse Pointe Farms picked up her two daughters from their father for a legal visitation.
She was scheduled to have the girls returned on August 21, but never showed.
Three days later days later, the mother in question missed a court date in Detroit, where she was scheduled to be sentenced for the kidnapping her 1-month-old son and while fleeing and eluding police one year ago. She pleaded no contest.
Federal warrants were issued for her arrest and the return of the children.
On Sunday morning, the 5 and 8-year-old girls were located in Jacksonville, Fla.
Their mother was arrested and arraigned on two federal kidnapping charges.
Police said upon her arrest, a third child was found with Peck. The father of that child lives in Jacksonville and police believe the two have a relationship.
The father of Peck's children has shared custody with his ex-wife and told police he never had a problem with scheduled visitations with her before this.
He is planning on returning home with the girls within the next few days.
Peck is still in Florida, she is being held without bond. Her next court date is scheduled for Sept. 6, when we expect to learn more on her extradition back to Michigan.
