WARREN, Mich. (FOX 2) - A Macomb County woman is spending the holidays behind bars after a deadly car crash that led to her allegedly assaulting a police officer in Warren.
On Dec. 21, Warren police were called out to a car crash on Mound and Chicago Road involving a Ford Escape and a Chevy Silverado. When they arrived, police say an officer walked up to the Ford, which had no one inside, but saw a woman on the sidewalk.
Witnesses say she was the driver of the Ford Escape and was allegedly drunk.
An officer walked to the woman, named Diamond Leann Glenn, to look for injuries when police say she bit and resisted the officer.
Glenn was then arrested and taken to the hospital.
Police say a 69-year-old man named Christopher Andelean, who was the driver of the Chevy, died in the hospital.
Glenn was charged with assaulting, resisting, and obstructing a police officer, which can be a two-year felony, with officials saying further charges may be added. She has a bond set at $100,000 and must wear an alcohol tether if she is released from custody.
She had a probable cause hearing on Jan. 2, 2025 and a preliminary exam on Jan. 9.
