Man pulls fake gun in road rage in Bloomfield Township
A man mad about a woman honking at him in traffic pulled a plastic gun -- and is now facing felony charges.
BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (FOX 2) - After a woman honked at him for cutting her off on Telegraph last weekend, a man allegedly pulled a gun on her and threatened to kill her, Bloomfield Township police said.
The victim was driving north on Telegraph near Maple on Sunday when a man, identified as 22-year-old Mohamad Qasim Al-Amiri, cut her off, so she honked at him.
Police first received a call about a silver or gold Cadillac stopped in the middle of the intersection. The victim then called 911 and reported that a man armed with a gun was threatening to kill her after she had honked at him.
According to police, Al-Amiri was telling the woman "I’m going to take your life right now" and "act like I won’t take your life right now."
The witness and victim both provided a description of Al-Amiri, who was wearing a ski mask in a way that allowed them to still see his face, police said.
The next day, police located Al-Amiri at his home and executed a search of his vehicle. A black plastic toy handgun was located under the seat, police said. According to authorities, the gun looked real.

"If you were one lane away you would think it’s real too. We did a comparison side by side. The only thing you can tell is it looks shiner and the red trigger but that’s being covered by a finger," said Officer Heather Glowacz.
Al-Amiri was arrested and charged with assault. His bond was set at $10,000, 10%.
