Man dies in house fire on Detroit's west side

DETROIT (WJBK) - Authorities are investigating how a deadly house fire started on Detroit's west side.

The fire started around 1:30 a.m. Thursday in the 14000 block of Cruse Street, which is near Schaefer and Schoolcraft. One man inside the home died in the fire.

Authorities aren't sure if the man lived in the home or if he was a visitor. It's unclear if anyone else was in the home at the time of the fire.

The medical examiner is working to determine the identify of the victim.

Arson investigators have been on scene.
