Man killed in crash involving scooter in Grosse Pointe Woods

GROSSE POINTE WOODS, Mich. (WJBK) - Police are investigating a deadly accident involving a scooter in Grosse Pointe Woods.

The accident happened at the intersection of Sunningdale and Morningside drives, which is near Lochmoore Boulevard. 

Police aren't releasing a lot of information at this time, except that a 45-year-old man riding a scooter was killed. The scooter does not appear to be badly damaged. 

"Very sad to see, a body laying there in the street. We didn't hear anything at night but, just, by himself with no helmet on. Not a very good thing," one neighbor told us. 

"This is a very active little roundabout corridor so it's just awful. Sad," another neighbor said. 

Police haven't said right now what caused the crash, or if any other vehicles or people may have been involved.
