Mother and baby reunite with Commerce Township medical team after life-saving c-section
COMMERCE TWP, Mich. (FOX 2) - It has been months since a mother and her baby were saved by a team of medical experts in Commerce Township. Now on Thursday, they went back to say thank you for saving their lives.
The adorable baby Layla and her mother Jennifer Imhauser-Jimenez returned to Huron Valley Sinai in Commerce Township on Thursday.
The two are seeing the team that delivered Layla for the first time since their emergency C-section back in March. The operation ultimately saved both of their lives.
At 39 weeks, Jenn was having a terrible migraine with her blood pressure reaching 180 over 110. Dr. Mais Arwani was the one to tell her to come to triage.
"Very shortly after arrival, Jenn started to, having trouble answering our questions. She suddenly lost consciousness, had a seizure and cardiac arrest," said Arwani.
Medical workers called a Code Blue and revived Jenn. She was then sent in for an emergency C-section. Doctors say Jenn had eclampsia and now she and Layla are healthy.
"I can’t thank you enough from the bottom of my heart and my family’s heart because things could’ve been so different," Jennifer said.
