Mother of 4 murdered children expected to speak decides against, releases statement
(WJBK) - The mother of four children murdered inside their Dearborn Heights home last week was expected to speak about the tragedy for the first time Wednesday, but decided against it.
Faith Green was expected to speak at 11:30 a.m., but
"She had a very rough night last night," Ozie Pye said on her behalf.
Green released a statement that said she was concerned with thanking everyone for the support, and wanted people to remember her children.
"We would also like to thank all who have contributed to express their love for our family at this very difficult time," she said in the release, read by Arnessa Pye.
FOX 2's Amy Lange streamed live on Facebook during the event.
Green's estranged husband Gregory is behind bars after being charged in their deaths.
According to the Dearborn Heights Police, two girls were found apparently asphyxiated using exhaust from a car. They are said to be 4 and 6 years old. Also, a 17-year-old girl and a 19-year-old boy were found shot to death.
Green was shot and slashed during the ordeal and was released from the hospital.
Her children will be remembered during visiting hours today and tomorrow from 3-8 p.m. at Pye Funeral Home, located at 17600 Plymouth Road in Detroit.
Their funeral services will be held at Detroit First Church of the Nazarene in Farmington Hills on Friday morning.
