MSP: Unresponsive woman found on shoulder of I-94 ejected from vehicle
DETROIT, Mich. (FOX 2) - A person found unresponsive on I-94 was ejected from a vehicle they were driving, according to Michigan State Police.
What we know:
On Jan. 12 around 4:35 a.m., 911 calls came in about a person in the left lane of I-94 near Woodward who appeared to have been hit by a vehicle.
Troopers arrived on the scene and found an unresponsive woman on the shoulder of I-94. She was transported to a local hospital.
During the investigation, the woman was identified as a 27-year-old from Detroit. MSP says she was the driver of a nearby Chevrolet Impala that had crashed.
According to MSP, the car was on the ramp when the driver lost control. The vehicle ran off the ramp, went down the embankment and ended up on the right lane of WB I-94.
The driver was ejected during the crash and landed on the left shoulder of I-94. The driver does not appear to have been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, MSP says.
Family has been notified. The freeway was closed during the investigation, but has reopened.
What we don't know:
Police did not say what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
