Southfield (WJBK) - The goal: $30,000. The event: Kickball. The reason: Remodeling Bradby Park.
Sponsored by the Jewish Federation's NEXTGen Detroit, Pitch for Detroit will be making a sixth return to the mound. With hopes of raising funds for a new roof at the Bradby Park's recreation building, more than 800 people are expected to attend.
The 7.5 acre park serves as a potential contributer for safer neighborhoods. More than 30,000 residents live near the park. Teaming up with an impressive list of sponsors, this plot of land carries a rich legacy of tradition and growth for youth sports programs.
The kickball tournament will take place at Belle Isle, on Sunday, Aug 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
