Plymouth Township road rage incident: Man smashes window of mobile dog grooming bus
PLYMOUTH, Mich. (FOX 2) - A road rage incident turned violent when a man smashed the window of a woman's bus on Ann Arbor and Lilly in Plymouth Township.
What we know:
It was a normal drive through Metro Detroit turned scary for Amanda Carisse who was traveling in her Lollipup Mobile Dog Grooming bus.
"I pulled up to the light. It was already red," she said. "I'm being such in a big vehicle. I’m really slow coming up to the light."
Then suddenly, another car came honking, making a lot of noise next to her vehicle. Carisse says someone tried to turn out of the corner gas station and that she pulled up too far, leaving her unable to back up with people in front and back of her.
"So I’m sitting there thinking okay, the light’s going to turn in a second," she said. "All of a sudden this guy is swearing and hops out of the car and I hear this noise and I didn’t even realize what happened."
Carisse then looked back and saw her damaged back window that was smashed out. The alleged instigator then drove off.
"It was just a horrible experience," she said. "I ended up calling and canceling my next dog, and I called my clients for the rest of the week explaining like I don’t even feel really well to drive and this never happens in Plymouth."
Carisse says she spent last summer putting in the whole dog grooming set up after buying the short bus off Facebook Marketplace. She has made it her whole livelihood ever since selling her brick and mortar shop.
"It just hurts so much because this isn’t as simple as repairing a window," she said. "I’m going to have to have a company completely gut the inside of the bus because this window happened to be on the side where it’s insulated, it’s framed, it’s walled. My plumbing, my tank my tub is on this side. It’s not just repair the window and it can be done."
What's next:
Plymouth Township police say they are looking for the suspect driver who was possibly seen in a silver Mercedes sedan without a state license plate. The driver was last seen going east on Ann Arbor Road.
"We have officers out on the street right now following up. We received one tip that we are looking at right now," said Chief James Knittel.
In the meantime, Carisse says her business will be down for a while as she tries to figure out how to recover.
