Police helicopter helps officers catch fleeing Dodge Durango

The white Dodge Durango that some motorists might have seen driving around metro Detroit Sunday morning thought it could flee police.

After all, it was speeding down Eight Mile near Van Dyke in a bid to escape capture. But when there's law enforcement chasing you from both the road and above, getting away isn't so easy.

That's what four suspects discovered this weekend after leading police on a chase near Warren.

The footage was caught from above by Trooper 2, Michigan State Police's helicopter unit that helps make finding fleeing suspects a little bit easier - and sometimes much safer.

At one point in the clip posted to social media, the pilot can be heard saying "failed to make the curb around trees on Kelly into the medium. One out on foot, two out on foot, three four out on food."

The Durango, whose owner had multiple felony warrants out, had crashed into the grassy hill dividing Kelly Road, located in Harper Woods near the Home Depot.

All four suspects were arrested and will face a number of charges.
