(WJBK) - A 67-year old parolee charged in federal court a day after police discovered three women held captive inside a house on Detroit's southwest side.
Investigators say that Richard Knider Jackson kept women locked in cages, forcing them to have sex. The horrifying discovery was found in an upstairs bedroom of a home on Electric near Fort Street and Outer Drive.
There is currently a search for two teenage girls who were also at the home, but disappeared.
"Upon entry into the house there was a large black metal steel gate with a padlock and the women were held and forced to have sex against their will," said FBI agent Michael Glennon.
During his initial appearance in Federal court in Detroit Friday Jackson requested a court appointed attorney and was denied bond. Among the many charges read were sex trafficking. He'll be held until his detention hearing Monday.
Richard Jackson was paroled from prison in Jan, 2016. His previous convictions include assault on a police officer, armed robbery, carrying a concealed weapon and narcotics.
He moved into the house on Electric during the summer. Agents found many hypodermic needles scattered all over the floors of the suspected sex trafficking house.
Detroit Police initially responded to a report of four people dead inside the house, according to a 911 call. But inside found the three women, two 31 and one 41-year-old victims who were rescued and rushed to the hospital.
Detroit Police called in the FBI's Southeast Michigan Trafficking and Exploitation Crimes task force and then discovered two teenage girls ages 16 and 15 years old had fled the house and agents want to find them for their own safety.
"(The) two young girls who escaped, we'd really like the public's help in identifying them to get the any help they may need," Glennon said.
