Police: Woman murdered while speaking to 911

Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham says that around 1 a.m. Saturday morning, a 38-year-old Macomb Twp. woman called 911 to report a domestic dispute.

While speaking with the dispatcher, several gun shots were heard over the phone.  

Macomb County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to the 16000 block of County Ridge Lane in Macomb Twp.

Deputies arrived on scene and located the women and her 44-year-old husband lying within close proximity to each other inside of the home. The women sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her body and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  

The husband sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

Deputies located a .40 caliber hand gun lying on the floor near the husband.  The gun is registered to the husband.  

The husband is currently in custody at the hospital. The women's 16 year old son was in the home when the incident occurred.  He was uninjured and turned over to a family members.

Macomb County Sheriff's Records indicate that there was no prior domestic calls to this address.  The investigation continuous and the information will be presented to the Macomb County Prosecutors office when completed.   

The name of the victim is being withheld pending positive identification with the Macomb County Medical Examiner's Office.

The name of the suspect is being held pending warrant authorization and arraignment.
