Power outage at Cedar Point strands dozens on Millennium Force
SANDUSKY, Ohio (WJBK/STORYFUL) - Things should be back to normal at Cedar Point Tuesday after a power problem on Memorial Day.
A car ran into a utility pole outside the amusement park Monday, knocking out power to a third of the rides on the busy holiday afternoon.
Some people were stuck on Millennium Force for more than an hour. The car stopped while they were headed up the big hill.
Photos shared on social media by people at the park along Lake Erie show riders stuck on a train going up the 300-foot-tall Millennium Force roller coaster. Park employees were helping people off of the rides.
Weather was hot and sunny there, too, with temps reaching nearly 90 degrees.
Crews were able to restore power within about two hours.
