Presidential candidate Ben Carson speaks at Eastern Michigan
He's a native Detroiter looking to lead our nation. Dr. Ben Carson spent the day in Washtenaw County.
Carson's campaign stop was at Eastern Michigan University before about 200 of his supporters. In Sept. he visited Jackson County but had a bigger crowd of about 1,000.
He tackled the topic of terrorism and our safety as Carson pleaded to Muslims living in metro Detroit, asking leaders to be part of the solution when identifying radicals.
"I would say to the Muslim community, particularly the moderate Muslims," he said. "Please concentrate on how you can help to identify radicalized individuals so that you put yourself squarely of the American populace where people aren't wondering what side that you are on."
Carson had a power-point presentation discussing the so-called Obama Care and comparing it his own plan to change the health care system.
Calling it a Health Empowerment Account given to everyone at birth, it would be tax-free money to be spent on health coverage, he said.
