MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich. (WJBK) - Red Oaks Waterpark in Madison Heights opened for the unofficial start of summer.
Visitors can enjoy bigger waves this season, all thanks to some new wave-making equipment.
"We have bigger and better waves this year -- running a lot faster -- and we've got some different options," said Matt Pardy, waterpark supervisor. "So we're running some big wave sets and some little wave sets for the kids."
For younger children, there's a soak station that has water jets, slides and much more. The park also boasts a river ride with a 990-foot long river.
It's a crowded place when the temperature tops 80 degrees.
"It's actually really fun. There are three waterslides, a wave pool, and there's a lot of cool stuff here," said Troy resident Anthony Rofail.
