Custodian stabbed to death at Redford Union High School
A custodian was murdered by another custodian at Redford Union High School. A witness tried to get the suspect to stop when she approached a janitor closet and saw the assault.
REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (FOX 2) - A custodian at Redford Union High School was stabbed to death inside a janitor closet Thursday.
Police said the assault happened around 5:30 p.m. in an area where there were no teachers or students. Another custodian witnessed the stabbing and tried to stop it before locking herself in the school office and calling police.
"She walked towards the closet and as she got closer she could see by the way the gentleman was there that he was stabbing the supervisor," said Karlos Harris, the brother of the woman who witnessed the stabbing.
Police arrived and arrested a 42-year-old Detroit man. The stabbing victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
"Even though she may not have been physically harmed the psychological effects have to be weighing on her," Harris said about his sister. "She assured me she is doing OK. She didn't sleep well last night. But for the most part, she is OK."
School was canceled Friday.
