ST. IGNACE, Mich. (FOX 2) - If you will be traveling to the Upper Peninsula, the roadside parks will soon be closed for the season.
The parks maintained by the Michigan Department of Transportation will close Oct. 16 and reopen in April.
Additionally, the southbound I-75 rest area just north of St. Ignace will close for the season on Dec. 1 due to reduced use and safety concerns.
MDOT has 85 scenic parks located in both the Upper and Lower Peninsulas.
