Romeo massage therapist convicted of sexual assault is non-compliant
ROMEO, Mich. (WJBK) - A massage therapist in Romeo is convicted of molesting a female client.
Police are concerned that she is not the only victim at The Soft Tissue Therapy and Rehab business on Van Dyke in Shelby Township.
Right now the practice is closed and likely has been ever since Jan. 17. That was when the owner and sole employee, Nathaniel Peterson, was convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a client.
Court documents detail the crime, while pictures on Peterson's website show where the crime took place.
Back in October a woman came in for a massage and told police and a court of law that Peterson groped her and forcibly molested her during the 90-minute massage session.
Peterson was sentenced to 180 days in jail and has to register as a sex offender. But a quick online search proved that he was going to be hard to track down.
The State of Michigan has Peterson listed as a non-compliant sex offender. But his last known address is listed as Dickenson Street in Romeo, just down the street from an elementary school. The people who live at the street say Peterson has never lived there, but they have gotten some of his mail lately.
Back at his business we found out that he allegedly spent a lot of time at the office.
"He would be there at 1 a.m., 4 a.m., 3 a.m. and it's a business not a residence," said Rick Porter.
Years ago Porter, his neighbor, thought about employing Peterson's services. He even confronted Peterson about his living/working situation.
"But then he said, after I confronted him, that he was doing business at those hours," Porter said. "But I had no idea what he was doing."
At this time only one victim has come forward but there could possibly be more people out there. Call police if you happen to know his whereabouts at the moment.
