ROYAL OAK, Mich. (FOX 2) - The installation of a roundabout at Greenfield and Normandy will close the Oakland County intersection for months.
Construction begins Monday, June 12 at the intersection on the border of Royal Oak and Beverly Hills. The intersection is expected to reopen in early September.
In addition to adding a one-lane roundabout, Beverly Court will be closed at Greenfield on both sides of Normandy.
During the $1.65 million project, crews will build the roundabout, add new curbs and gutters, make minor drainage improvements, and new sidewalk.
Detours:
Greenfield: 13 Mile Road to Woodward Avenue to 14 Mile Road, back to Greenfield Road and vice versa.
Westbound Normandy Road: Normandy Road to Woodward Avenue to 14 Mile Road to Southfield Road to Beverly Road.
Eastbound Beverly Road: Beverly Road to Pierce Street to either 14 Mile Road to Woodward Avenue to Normandy Road.
