SB I-275 reopened at Michigan Ave due to fatal accident (UPDATE)
UPDATE (10 p.m.): The accident scene at I-275 and Michigan Avenue was cleared and the south bound route has been reopened, according to MDOT.
The driver of the semi-truck was killed instantly after running into a Wayne County roads crew, according to Michigan State police on I-275 south bound.
The crash happened at 2 p.m. when the driver of an empty semi tanker truck in the right lane struck a county commission truck that was parked with an arrow board on south of Michigan Avenue.
The driver fo the road commission vehicle was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
One of Detroit's busiest interstates is closed down Thursday because of a fatal accident.
A semi-truck ran into a Wayne County Roads crew in the crash on I-275. The driver has not been identified yet as authorities are working to contact his family/
At about 2:20 Thursday afternoon because of an accident at Michigan Ave.
MDOT advises drivers to use I-96 to US-24 or M-39 to I-94 or use M-14 to US-23 to I-94.o other injuries were reported.
There is no estimate on when the interstate will reopen.
