SB Southfield Freeway reopened after shooting incident; car hit twice at Grand River
DETROIT (FOX 2) - All lanes of southbound Southfield Freeway are now open after the road was closed due to a shooting investigation for several hours Monday afternoon.
A vehicle was shot at and hit twice at M39 at Grand River by a suspect in a black SUV. The intended victims, an 18-year-old woman and her 20-year-old boyfriend, were uninjured, according to Michigan State police.
"A pistol was recovered from the victims' vehicle and the pistol did not have a serial number. A sweep of the freeway did locate several shell casings," Michigan State Police said in a tweet.
MSP does not believe it was a random incident, The freeway was closed for hours between Eight and Six mile roads for the investigation.

The Michigan Department of Transportation reported the closure near Grand River at 1 p.m. Michigan State Police said they were investigating an assault, though they did not specify what happened.
