CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (FOX 2) - The search for a missing jet skier in Lake St. Clair's Anchor Bay ended Friday when authorities located the body believed to be the victim who disappeared.
The body of Jonathan Kloss was located just after 12 p.m., the Chesterfield Township Police Department confirmed in a news release. It was discovered in Anchor Bay near where the jet ski capsized Thursday night.
The Kloss family has since been notified of their deceased relative.
The Chesterfield man, as well as 19-year-old Hunter Lentine of New Baltimore, went missing Thursday while they were riding jet skis. They flipped around 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, authorities said.
Lentine was rescued and taken to a hospital. Both jet skis were found capsized and vacant.
Rescue teams spent about five hours looking for Kloss before calling off the search Thursday night. The search continued Friday before the Macomb Sheriff Marine Division located Kloss.
It's currently being investigated as an accident.
