(WJBK) - Whether you're firing up the snow blower, or getting out the shovel, the Road Commissioners have a warning for you.

Do not shovel or blow snow into the street. It's illegal, anywhere in Michigan.

Removing the snow often becomes a big issue after winter storms like the storm Friday, which left up to 9 inches of snow in some areas

Violators caught shoveling or blowing snow into the street can get a ticket for up to 100 dollars or up to three months in Jail. 

Shoveling or blowing snow into the street can block traffic, and creates extra work for road crews.
