BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (FOX 2) - After the owners of Saugatuck's Guardian Brewing Co. closed early last year to move out of state, details are trickling in about the future.
The backstory:
The owners of Guardian made the difficult decision to close and leave Michigan to help a family member who has health issues. According to the owners, that spot is Bloomington, Ind., where there is access to medical facilities that the relative needs.
Guardian closed in March 2024, with plans to eventually open up a new brewery in Indiana. This week, the name of the new brewery was unveiled - Towaki Brewing Co. - along with the business' logo.
What's next:
Towaki will include a variety of beverages, including beer, hard cider, wine, cocktails, and alcoholic options.
The brewery is expected to have board games, arcade games, and outdoor games, along with pet-friendly patio seating. Towaki also plans to continue the beer schools that were offered at Guardian.
The exact address hasn't been shared yet, but the plan is to open in the fall.
