Some voting precincts in metro Detroit are experiencing long lines well into Tuesday night.

Long lines were reported in both Novi and Eastpointe with people waiting to cast their ballots well after 10 p.m. Precincts closed across the state at 8 p.m. but if voters were in line by that time they were still allowed to cast their ballot.

In Novi, long lines were found at Hickory Woods Elementary School with people waiting more than two hours.

In Eastpointe, lines were backed up at the 10th precinct polling station with many walking out without voting. In a video submitted by a viewer, a small group of voters could be seen voting with a long line backed up down a narrow hallway waiting to get inside the gymnasium.
