Southbound I-75 closed at I-94 due to crash, fire

DETROIT (WJBK) - The Michigan Department of Transportation says the southbound lanes of I-75 are closed at I-94 in Detroit due to a crash and fire.

The highway was closed around 3:00 Thursday afternoon after the crash and fire. It's not know at this time how serious the crash is.

In the same area, the westbound ramp from I-94 to northbound I-75 is also congested due to a crash on the ramp.

According to Michigan State Police, a semi truck driver heading north on the highway is believed to have had a medical emergency. The truck went through the cement median and into southbound lanes, hitting at least on car.

The extent of injuries is not known at this time.

It's not known if the two are related.
