Suspected drunk driver hits Roseville school crossing guard

A Roseville crossing guard was hit by a suspected drunk driver Tuesday afternoon.

The incident happened in front of Roseville Steenland Elementary School on Chestnut Street, when a female driver there to pick up her child in a white truck struck the guard, then drove off.

The driver of the truck returned to the school 10 minutes later and screamed at the principal, according to police. The driver, who appeared drunk, was then arrested at about 3:30 p.m.

He refused a Breathalyzer and investigators are waiting on a search warrant to take her blood.

The crossing guard, who is 82, refused medical treatment and is expected to be okay.
