Teen detained for questioning after Noel Night shooting

A person has been detained for questioning by police in connection with a shooting in Detroit on Noel Night that injured four teens, according to Detroit police.

Detroit police say the shooting happened Saturday around 7:30 p.m.on John R and Farnsworth, which is in front of the Detroit Institute of Arts. The shooting happened during Noel Night, an annual event in which hundreds of Detroit stores, restaurants, churches and museums participate.

Police say the shooting happened in a large group where people were walking, and that one suspect opened fire. It's unclear which direction the shooting came from or why the suspect fired his weapon.

Four teens were injured and are in stable condition.

A mother of one of the victims spoke to FOX 2 and says her son heard an argument and then the gunshots. To protect the victim and his mother's privacy, their identities have been concealed.
