The 'Cold Duck' champagne drink started in Detroit

Champagne is guaranteed to flow tonight as metro Detroiters ring in the new year.

If "Cold Duck" is on your list of drinks, here's something you may not know  - the cocktail was actually born in Detroit.

A Cold Duck, champagne with Burgundy, was created in 1937 or 38 by Harold Borgman at the Pontchartrain Wine Cellars on Woodward Avenue.
