We headed to Holiday Market in Royal Oak - and first ran into Tom Violante - who started the store 65 years ago. He shared a special memory with us - as shoppers hustled to grab those last minute ingredients.
Stores were packed but despite the crazy crowds, everyone seemed to be in good spirits.
