Thief behind Plymouth ballet company's stolen trailer arrested, charged with larceny
Thieves steal trailer full of ballet props for showing of 'The Nutcracker'
A community comes together to help after 40 years of props for 'The Nutcracker' in Plymouth were stolen by thieves.
CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (FOX 2) - An Ohio man was arrested and charged in connection with a stolen trailer full of ballet equipment and supplies that is owned by a local theater company.
Brandon Keel, 20, of Toledo in Ohio, was arraigned on charges including larceny and receiving and concealing stolen property.
The Plymouth Ballet Company reported their trailer had been stolen more than a month ago when it was taken overnight from the 8100 block of Ronda Drive in Canton Township.
It contained stage props used in the "Nutcracker" performance, a local production put on by more than 80 kids.
Even without the props, the show went on thanks to the support from other local studios, a member of the Plymouth Ballet Company said. A GoFundMe also helped raise over $18,000 to buy a new trailer.
