The Wayne County Prosecutor charged a man and a woman Thursday with arson and assault with intent to kill after a home was firebombed earlier this week.
Jebrie Cross, 28, and Mariah Thomas, 24, were both charged with two counts each of arson and assault with intent to murder.
Two people were killed early Monday morning inside a home in the 19600 block of Hoyt after it was firebombed. A source said it was retaliation for a fight that happened earlier in the night.
According to the prosecutor's office, Thomas got into an argument with her former boyfriend, James Jordan, at 9:45 Sunday night. Around 2:30, Thomas and Cross returned to the home and threw bottles containing a flammable substance into the home and set it on fire.
Jordan and 20-year-old Jana John were both killed in the fire. A 22-year-old man was also inside but survived the flames.
Both women were charged and arraigned on Thursday.
