Two critically injured in party bus shooting after hookah lounge fight

Two people are in critical condition Monday after a shooting on a party bus that was targeted following a fight at a hookah lounge.

Investigators say the two individuals were shot as they were getting off the bus on Monterey, right off of Woodward in Highland Park around 2 a.m.

Police say the suspect had followed the bus from the hookah lounge Burn on Northwestern in Southfield to the Highland Park location where it was dropping people off.

There was a sort of altercation at the bar, and the suspect followed then hit the bus, then when it stopped, the suspect got out of their vehicle and opened fire.

"The shots were fired here on Monterey Street. It continued the street over in the back alley, and then the street over from there - so there are actually three scenes that we need to investigate," said Marli Blackman, Highland Park spokeswoman. "There were several cars that were shot on this block, including the party bus itself."

Police are looking for two cars and possibly two suspects. They believe they have identified them, and that one of the victims from the party bus knew the suspect.

Authorities are looking for a newer model blue Chevy Malibu and an older model gray car, possibly a Pontiac Grand Am.
