Two dozen cars broken into during Michigan basketball game in Ann Arbor
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (FOX 2) - Police are on the search for a man suspected of being connected to two dozen smash and grabs that occurred over the weekend during a Michigan game.
What we know:
The photo provided by Ann Arbor Police, shows the man wearing his hoodie that reads, "only the forgotten are truly dead."
Sgt. Jim Anuszkiewicz says multiple vehicles were targeted.
"We had a total of 27 vehicles that were broken into. Whether there was one individual or several individuals, we're still looking into that right now, but it was definitely something that was planned out," said Anuszkiewicz.
The vehicles were parked at Pioneer High School as University of Michigan fans watched the basketball team beat the Washington Huskies at nearby Crisler Arena.
Sadly, after the game, fans found their cars damaged and robbed of items like cash, purses, wallets and even a laptop.
"We had one individual that was from the Kalamazoo area, had their younger daughter with them and had to drive all the way back to Kalamazoo with their window smashed out," said Anuszkiewicz.
Police made sure to remind people not to leave valuables in their car or out in the open and always lock them.
